Estoy listo a ir a la Argentina! (translation: I am ready to go to Argentina!)
In 39 days, I will be heading to Miami to board a plane for Buenos Aires, Argentina! This reality set in a couple of weekends ago as I went to Chapel Hill, NC to meet the team of staff and students (all 37!). Let me tell you, these students are TOP NOTCH! What an incredibly fun group of students! (I guess the staff aren't so bad either.) So excited to see these college students grow in their relationship with the Lord this summer and how much their lives will change.
I still can't believe this is really happening. I've been praying for Argentina since my freshman year of college about 7 years ago (whoa, I'm getting old.) My plan was to go the summer of 2007 after my sophomore year, but God had other plans for me. I spent that summer on staff at Camp St. Christopher and had a blast and I also got to attend a global missions conference in Busan, South Korea! Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about finally getting the opportunity to go!
The University of Buenos Aires has about 300,000 students. No, that isn't a typo. Three-hundred THOUSAND! Dang. That's big. Much bigger than campuses in SC that's for sure! Can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do to expand the Kingdom!
Continue to pray with me that each student and staff would be fully-funded in order to go, for team unity, and for each of us to be filled with the Spirit and be used by God.
Helping Argentines become worshipers of Christ,
SJ
