St. Andrew's City Church

About a month or so ago I heard that my church is planting a church at Music Farm in downtown Charleston! As soon as I learned of this I immediately wanted to be a part of it! Who wouldn't? One awesome church, reaching people in the heart of the city! I went to a church plant meeting today and got even more excited about it! Now I have lots of praying to do!

But even before the meeting, the sermon today was about missions. We, as redeemed people of God, are ALL called to be missionaries. This sermon spoke directly to my heart. Regardless of my occupational status as a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ, I am still called to be a missionary. YOU are called to be a missionary. Jesus has commanded every redeemed person to "Go and make disciples of all nations." This call is not just for Campus Crusade for Christ staff members, full-time Christian workers, preachers, or missionaries, but for every single person who belongs to the King. Click here to listen to Kowbeidu bring it!

This got me so fired up about the gospel and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth! As much as I would love to pick up everything, and go overseas to unreached people groups to share the message of Christ, God has called me here, Charleston, to do the same. And who knows, maybe one day, my dreams of living overseas as a missionary will come true (I mean CCC is in 190 countries representing 99.6% of the world's population. I'm sure there will be opportunities!)

The past two years living in the "Holy City" I have fallen in love with the beauty and the people who live here. God has given me a heart for this place. I cannot wait to see all He does through City Church!

I'm not sure God is calling me to be a part of the church plant as a part of the core team or if it's just something I think I want to be a part of. It's going to be a huge commitment and I will have to make sacrifices. Am I willing to give everything that is comfortable up for the sake of following Christ in reaching the lost people of this city? Would you pray with me that my eyes and heart would be open to His leading?

Unto Him be all the glory,
SJ
