Learn A New World = History & Baseball

This past week has been one of the most fun weeks with my team! Adding a new teammate (Berkeley) means adding on the team bonding/team socials.     So we....

Went to Zona Colonial and took a tour. Learned about Christopher Columbo (Columbus). I was reminded once again how beautiful this place is and how rich in history! This part of the city always reminds me of Charleston, SC. Maybe it's all the old buildings and being on a river?
Listening to our tour guide, Nelson.
My team is awesome.

Las Chicas

One thing to know about Dominicans...they absolutely LOVE baseball. They are crazy about it! So, in order for us to fully experience the culture of this country, we just had to go to a game. It was SO much fun! This was one of the final games of the season, 2nd game of the series final. The crowd was crazy loud and excited the entire game! When you buy tickets you have to declare a team, so we ended up being fans of Las Aguilas (The Eagles) which was the visiting team from Santiago. We figured, "Hey, we've been to Santiago and this is Prospero's team, so why not?!" I really wanted to yell "E-A-G-L-E-S, GO EAGLES GO!" from my days of Winthrop basketball. :)

Here's a little video of some beisbol action.

adios,
